YAAG Community Service Interns - Personal Statements

The Yale Alumni Association of Greenwich sponsors summer internships for Yale students at organizations that provide community service in Greenwich and surrounding areas.

The YAAG Community Service Intern for the summer of 2018 was Michael Najem, Timoth Dwight, Class of 2020.  Michael worked with the Greenwich United Way on their recently launched program to help close the Early Childhood Achievement Gap that exists in our town’s schools. 

The YAAG Community Service Intern for the summer of 2017 was Lauren Tucker, Ezra Stiles College, Class of 2018.  A native of Southern California, Lauren spent the summer working with the Education Department at the Bruce Musuem, teach multiple programs, working public events, and organizing her own research project about visitor interaction in one of museum's permanent science exhibit.

The YAAG Community Service Intern for the summer of 2016 was Luke Hellum, Saybrook College, Class of 2019.  Luke is from Pelham, NY.  He spent the summer working at the Greenwich Library, serving as a technology intern.  His responsibilities included teaching workshops, training staff, assisting patrons, and revamping internal adminstrative systems.
