Frank Lloyd Wright with Prof. Craig Buckley

Yale Speaker Series at Greenwich Library

Craig Buckley, a popular member of Yale's Department of Art History, will discuss the Frank Lloyd Wright: On the Road to Broadacre City.

This lecture will provide an overview of key works in Frank Lloyd Wright's oeuvre in light of his changing attitude to the city, from his early career in Chicago to his proposal for Broadacre City. Broadacre City, designed with students from the Taliesin Fellowship during the Great Depression, and the most utopian of Wright's plans, will be considered against a background of utopian urban planning by European modernists during the interwar years.

The event will be held in the Cole Auditorium of Greenwich Library at 4:30pm (please note new time) on Sunday, May 7th.  To view this event at the Greenwich Library web site, where it is available to the greater Greenwich community, click here  for the library calendar.

Following the talk you are cordially invited to join us for dinner and a glass of wine at the Field Club, 276 Lake Avenue.  Reservations are required and the cost is $75 per person.  Please e-mail us at yaagct@gmail.com and we will make arrangements for you to attend.
