Family Art Day at Aldrich Contemporary Museum, Ridgefield, CT
Hands-on workshops for children (Ages 2-5 in the morning and ages 6-10 in the afternoon, but all are welcome to either session). Optional lunch in Ridgefield.

Bring the whole family and enjoy a winter Saturday at the dynamic Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum in Ridgefield, CT.  Artist Ash Ferlito will lead famlies in "hands-on" workshops in which children and caregivers will sculpt with paper to create bold and colorful geometric interpretations of David Scanavino's site-specific installation.  Workshop participants will build 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional forms on a variety of shaped surfaces and mount pressed paper pulp made using the same process as Scanvino's Peacock.
Workshops ages are flexible and all are welcome, but the morning workshop (10:00am - 12 noon) will focus on ages 2-5 and the afternoon workshop (1:00PM - 3:00PM) will be primarily for ages 6-10.  The workshops are free for kids (and adults!).  There is a $10 admission fee to the museum for adults that will be collected at the museum entrance.  We are also planning an optional lunch in scenic Ridgefield.
If you would like to join us for what promises to be a fun Family Art Day, kindly send an RSVP email to YAAG Board Member Rachel Carr Goulding at with the following information: (1) number of adults attending, (2) number of kids attending and their ages and (3) whether you will be joining for lunch.
