Yale Day of Service

A global Yale Day of Service was initiated in 2009 by the Association of Yale Alumni (AYA) to facilitate Yalies around the world coming together on or around a given day each year to serve their local communities.  The Yale Alumni Association of Greenwich hosted a site in 2008 for the Connecticut pilot year and has sponsored multiple locations in each year of the program.

Yale alumni have an unparalleled tradition of service.  From Dwight Hall's student-led community-based programs to the highest levels of government service, Yale alumni have risen to the challenge to "change the world," and indeed many are doing just that as volunteers for Yale, in their professional lives in the nonprofit sector, by serving on boards of foundations, as elected officials, or by giving their intellect and creative energy to volunteer community projects.

To learn more about Day of Service and to sign up for the next one, please visit http://yaledayofservice.org/.  The Day is usually the second Saturday in May, with service opportunities continuing throughout the spring and in some cases all year.
